Privacy Policy

RetroLand (retro-land.com) respects your privacy. This page explains what data we collect, why we use it, how long we keep it, and what rights you have. It is written in the spirit of Vietnam's Decree 13/2023/ND-CP on personal data protection.

2.1. Data you provide

  • Account information: email, display name, and avatar when you sign in with Google or another supported method.
  • Content you create: chat messages, community posts, play-room names, and feedback you send us.
  • Gameplay data: save progress, scores, ranks, badges, and friend lists when those features exist.

2.2. Data collected automatically

  • IP address, browser type, operating system, device type, and language.
  • Usage data: pages viewed, games played, time of access, and errors that occur.
  • Online connection data needed to match players and keep a play room running.
  • Cookies and similar technologies (see section 5).

2.3. Data we do not ask for

We do not ask for your phone number, home address, identity documents, financial data, or sensitive data. Please do not post this information in chat or in public posts.

3. Why we use data

  • To create and manage accounts and to authenticate sign-in.
  • To save progress and to run play rooms, leaderboards, and community features.
  • To prevent fraud, spam, and abuse, and to protect the system.
  • To analyze and improve the performance and experience of the Service.
  • To reply to your support requests and other messages.
  • To meet legal duties and lawful requests from competent authorities.

4. Legal bases

We process data based on: (a) your consent when you register and use the Service; (b) the need to provide the Service you request; (c) legitimate interests in protecting the system; and (d) legal obligations.

5. Cookies and local storage

  • Necessary cookies: keep you signed in, remember preferences, and support security.
  • Analytics cookies: Google Analytics helps us understand how the site is used, such as pages viewed and time spent.
  • Advertising cookies: RetroLand shows ads through Google AdSense. Google may use cookies to measure and personalize ads. You can turn off personalized ads in Google Ads Settings.
  • Local storage (localStorage/IndexedDB): may store game progress, play history, and preferences in your browser.
  • You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Some features may stop working if you do.

6. Sharing data

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in these cases:

  • Infrastructure providers: hosting, CDN, databases, sign-in services (for example Google), and analytics, only as needed to run the Service.
  • Other users: your display name, avatar, rank, and messages you choose to post publicly in the community or a play room.
  • Legal requests: when a competent public authority requires it under applicable law.
  • Protection of rights: when needed to stop violations, fraud, or threats to someone else's safety.

7. Transfers outside Vietnam

Some infrastructure providers host servers outside Vietnam. By using the Service, you agree that your data may be processed and stored abroad. We choose providers that apply appropriate security measures.

8. How long we keep data

  • Account data is kept for as long as the account is active.
  • After you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymize the data within 30 days, except for what we must keep by law or to handle a violation.
  • Technical access logs are kept for up to 90 days.

9. Security

We use reasonable measures such as encrypted connections (HTTPS), access control, and backups. No system is perfectly secure. Keep your account safe, do not share your sign-in details, and tell us right away if you suspect an incident.

If an incident seriously affects personal data, we will notify people as required by law.

10. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Know how your data is processed.
  • Access and receive a copy of your personal data.
  • Correct information that is inaccurate.
  • Delete your data and your account.
  • Withdraw consent or restrict or object to processing.
  • Complain if you believe your rights have been infringed.

To use these rights, email privacy@retro-land.com. We will reply within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first.

11. Children's data

The Service is not intended to collect data from children under 16 without consent from a parent or guardian. If you are a parent and learn that your child provided data without your consent, contact us and we will delete it.

We encourage parents to supervise children when they play online, especially in public chat.

12. Third-party links

The website may link to Discord, Facebook, YouTube, and other sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top of the page will change, and important changes will be announced on the website. Continuing to use the Service means you accept the updated policy.
